The perfect processional

A wedding processional is a beautiful time to symbolize the start of the wedding ceremony. No matter the cultural or religious background, the processional is an important and unique element for every wedding. Whether you call it a Baarat, Procession, etc, something common for most entrances is the music and the wedding party walking down the aisle.

When trying to pick the perfect song, it is important to remember to pick something that you both find to be special. It is also important to remember that there is a certain speed that must be maintained while walking down the aisle, so keep the tempo of the song in mind. A slower pace would work better if you are hoping for a more formal service, or you can always opt for something more upbeat depending on the atmosphere you want to create! Whatever you choose, just make sure it is something special to you both! Maybe you will want something that makes you cry on your big day or maybe you will want something joyous to celebrate this beautiful moment. Once you pick a song, you can decide if you would rather have it sung by a live band, played as the instrumental version, or even played on the speaker by your DJ. All of which will help create the perfect processional, no matter which you may choose.

There are so many different traditions when walking down the aisle. Some of the most popular entrances include: your bridesmaids and groomsmen entering together, families of the bride of the groom entering, the bride and groom being escorted down the aisle by their parents, and most recently, it has become a trend for the bride to walk herself down the aisle. No matter your title or pronoun, you can choose to do what is best for you during your wedding entrance! There is no rule book telling you right from wrong, just suggestions to help take some of the work off your shoulders during all the planning.

The most important thing is to practice, practice, practice!! If you are walking down with a bouquet, your planner and MOH should have a plan in motion so you can hand over your bouquet during the ceremony. If there will be an officiant at the altar with you, your planner should discuss ahead of time when they should move for pictures. Many of these small details will be perfected during the rehearsal!
